Alert Setup
Choose how and when a website monitor notifies you — channels, alert timing, and recovery notifications.
Alerts decide who hears about a problem and when. Set them up per monitor so each alert reaches the right place.
Attach channels
An alert channel is a reusable destination you create once and attach to any monitor. On a website monitor, attach the channels it should notify:
- Slack — see Slack integration for setup.
- Email — alert an address or group.
Microsoft Teams, Discord, SMS, voice, and webhooks are coming soon.
Alert timing
- Alert delay — notify only after the failure persists (for example after 2, 5, or 10 minutes), so a brief blip never pages anyone.
- Re-notify — send a reminder on an interval (e.g. every 30 minutes) while the incident is still open.
Confirmation keeps it quiet
Before any alert fires, Spectra confirms the failure from 2+ regions and requires consecutive failures. This is what prevents false alarms from a momentary regional network issue.
Recovery notifications
When the monitor recovers, Spectra sends an all-clear with the exact downtime recorded — so you know it’s resolved without checking manually.
Reduce noise further
Use quiet hours and severity filters to control which alerts reach a channel and when — while critical alerts always come through.
