Quickstart
Create your first monitor and get alerted in a couple of minutes.
This guide gets you from zero to your first alert in a few minutes. You’ll create an account, add a monitor, and connect an alert channel.
1. Create your account
Sign up at app.spectrabolt.com — the Free plan needs no credit card. You can start monitoring immediately.
2. Add your first monitor
Create a new monitor and choose a type. For a website, pick Website / HTTP, then set:
- URL — the page or endpoint to check (e.g.
https://yoursite.com). - Check interval — how often Spectra checks it.
- Regions — where the checks run from (choose regions close to your users).
- Optionally a keyword that must be present, so you catch a broken page that still returns
200.
Save, and Spectra begins checking right away.
3. Connect an alert channel
Add a channel — Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, email, or a webhook — and attach it to the monitor. Now, when a check fails (confirmed from multiple regions), Spectra opens an incident and notifies that channel. See Alert channels.
4. Publish a status page (optional)
Turn your monitors into a public, branded status page so customers can see status without contacting support.
Next steps
- Set up on-call & escalation so alerts reach the right person.
- Add more monitor types: API, heartbeat/cron, SSL.
- Automate with the REST API.
