What is Port Monitoring?
Confirm that databases, mail, SSH, and any TCP service are accepting connections.
A port monitor opens a TCP connection to a host and port to confirm the service behind it is listening and accepting connections. It watches the data layer your website monitor can’t see.

- Host and port — enter a custom port or pick a preset service.
- Check interval and regions.

Confirmation and firewalls
Failures are confirmed from two or more regions with a consecutive-failure threshold before an incident opens. If your service sits behind a firewall, allow-list Spectra’s probe IP ranges per region so checks aren’t blocked. See the port monitoring page.
