Edit Monitor
Change a port monitor's host, port, regions, or interval — without losing its history.
You can change any setting on a port monitor after it’s created. History and incidents are preserved.
Open the monitor
From Monitors, click the monitor, then choose Edit (or Settings).
What you can change
- Name — rename without affecting history.
- Host and port — point the monitor at a different server or service port.
- Check interval — how often it connects.
- Regions — add or remove probe locations. If you add a region, remember to allow-list its probe IPs on your firewall.
- Alerts — which channels it notifies and the alert timing.
Changes take effect from the next check.
Pause instead of edit
For planned maintenance on the service, pause the monitor rather than deleting it — it stops connecting and alerting but keeps its full history, and you can resume any time.
Next steps
- Set up alerts · Review results in the monitor detail view · Delete the monitor.
