Edit Monitor
Change an SSL & domain monitor's domain, alert lead times, or interval — without losing its history.
You can change an SSL & domain monitor’s settings after it’s created. History and incidents are preserved.
Open the monitor
From Monitors, click the monitor, then choose Edit (or Settings).
What you can change
- Name — rename without affecting history.
- Domain / host — point the monitor at a different domain.
- Alert lead times — adjust when you’re warned before expiry (e.g. 60/30/14/7 days).
- Check interval — 24, 12, or 6 hours.
- Alerts — which channels it notifies.
Changes take effect from the next check.
After renewing a certificate
When you renew a certificate, the monitor picks up the new expiry date on its next check automatically — no action needed. Any expiry incident clears once the new, valid certificate is detected.
Pause instead of edit
To stop checks temporarily — a domain being migrated, for example — pause the monitor rather than deleting it. It keeps its full history and can be resumed any time.
Next steps
- Set up alerts · Review status in the monitor detail view · Delete the monitor.
