Alert channels

Reusable Email and Slack destinations for a workspace, applied on top of any alerts set on individual monitors.

An alert channel is a reusable destination for notifications. You create a channel once under Settings → Workspace → Integrations → Alert channels, then it delivers alerts for the monitors it’s applied to.

How channels work

  • A channel fires for all monitors in the workspace, or a selection you pick with Configure.
  • Channels are applied on top of anything set on an individual monitor’s own page — they add to it, they don’t replace it.
  • Test sends a sample alert so you can confirm delivery, and each channel shows when it last fired.
  • Disabling a channel stops alerts through it for every monitor that uses it.

Available today

  • Email — plain-text alerts delivered to one or more addresses.
  • Slack — connect a Slack workspace to pick channels, or paste an incoming webhook URL for a single channel. See Slack integration.

Coming soon

These channels are planned and will be enabled in future releases:

  • Webhook — structured JSON to any URL, for custom pipelines
  • Microsoft Teams — channel notifications
  • Google Chat — space notifications
  • Discord — server notifications
  • SMS & voice — reach on-call off-screen

Match the channel to the urgency

Use channels as a loudness dial:

  • Email — low urgency, async summaries.
  • Chat (Slack) — team-visible, business-hours default.
  • SMS / voice (coming soon) — reserve for genuinely critical, customer-facing outages.

Reduce noise

Spectra confirms failures from multiple regions and applies consecutive-failure thresholds before sending anything, so blips never reach your loud channels. Each person can also tune what reaches them in Notification preferences, and you can review what actually went out in Alert activity.
