Introduction
What Spectra is, what it monitors, and how the pieces fit together.
Spectra is an all-in-one uptime and synthetic monitoring platform. It checks the things your users depend on — websites, APIs, servers, SSL certificates, ports, and scheduled jobs — from multiple global regions, and alerts your team the moment something breaks.
What you can monitor
- Website / HTTP(S) — status codes, response time, and keyword checks.
- API — real requests with headers, auth, and a request body, plus assertions on the response.
- Ping — ICMP reachability, latency, and packet loss.
- Port — any TCP service (databases, mail, SSH, Redis, and more).
- Heartbeat / cron — get alerted when a scheduled job fails to run.
- SSL & domain — certificate and domain-expiry alerts, plus chain and hostname validation.
What else Spectra does
- Alerting to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, email, SMS, voice, and webhooks — with on-call routing and escalation.
- Incident management — automatic incidents with timelines and post-incident reviews.
- Status pages — branded, subscribable pages driven live by your monitors.
- REST API & webhooks to automate everything.
